One of our attorneys, Sarah Frankel, was honored to be able to speak last month at the Monadnock Summit for Caregivers of Aging Loved Ones. Sarah presented at two sessions that focused on acting as someone’s agent under a Power of Attorney or Advance Healthcare Directives, the importance of putting an estate plan into place before a crisis or incapacity, and planning with Wills and Revocable Living Trusts.
It was a great opportunity to be able to provide some information to caregivers and to learn about local and state-wide initiatives aimed at supporting caregivers. In 2015, an estimated 34.2 million American adults have served as an unpaid caregiver to someone age 50 or older, according to a report by the AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving. The report, which has a number of other findings can be found by clicking here.
